Terms And Conditions

Continued participation in classes of the Academy is dependent on compliance with these Terms and Conditions.

Payments

When the Academy allows new students to enrol (or existing students to continue to participate) we trust that parents/guardians will honour their commitment to the Academy and pay for all fees and costume costs incurred. We understand that day-to-day responsibilities sometimes make life difficult and we can make some exceptions. However, this is a business and accordingly we have policies in place for both you (our valued customer) and ourselves. They are as follows:

  • Fees are due at the BEGINNING OF EACH 10 WEEK TERM, or on the due date specified on the invoice, whichever comes first.
  • Bills still outstanding after four weeks will incur a 10% SURCHARGE.

Payments are by cash or cheque made out to “Y. Taylor”. Cheques less than £10 will not be accepted.

Cancellation (individual lessons)

  • by student absence through sickness, vacation, etc: tuition fees are non-refundable, but students may (subject to space being available) attend other scheduled classes in the same term on a “make up” basis.
  • by the Academy: if the Academy has to cancel a class every effort will be made to contact you and an alternative class will be offered or a refund applied to your next bill.

Termination

Should you decide not to continue classes, you must inform the Principal in writing. Five weeks notice (not including holidays) is required in the event of terminating classes. Fees to make up to 5 weeks will be invoiced.

Classes

Parents and students are reminded that they must be punctual to class to ensure that students are well warmed up which is necessary to avoid injury whilst dancing. The Academy takes no responsibility for students 15 minutes before or after their lessons.

The Principal must be advised of any medical conditions which may affect a student’s ability to participate in a class.

Parents and siblings are reminded that they are not permitted into the lesson, and must be quiet if waiting outside.

New students are welcome to attend any trial class and participate or watch – this must be booked in advance with the Principal.

Teachers

All our teachers are qualified to teach their classes. The Academy reserves the right to substitute another teacher if necessary.

Uniform

All students are required to comply with the Academy’s standards on Uniform (details on request). Failure to comply will result in the student being excluded from the class without refund. The Academy is not responsible for loss of any student property .

Child Protection Policy

This Policy relates to children under the age of 18 years. The aim of the Academy is, with the help of parents/guardians, to provide a safe environment for all children as far as it is reasonably practicable. However, parents/guardians or their representatives are responsible for the welfare of their children.

All children should be accompanied to and from the lesson by a parent or guardian or other responsible adult.

Changing areas and toilets are not supervised.

Any problem must be brought to the attention of the Principal promptly.

Student Behaviour

We expect our students and parents to behave properly during class-time and when representing the Academy at external events. Failure to do so will result in expulsion.

Exams and Competition work

Entry for Exams and Competition work is at the discretion of the Principal.

Shows and Choreography Competitions

We hope that everyone will participate in our regular shows/demonstrations. Rehearsals, attendance and costumes will incur a small fee.

Photo/video rights

For safety and copyright reasons, photography and video recording is not permitted during classes and performances.
