The Yasmin Taylor Academy of Dance : Data Protection Policy

  • The Academy maintains personal information on a variety of people to satisfy our contractual obligations to them:
    • parents/guardians of students (names, addresses, emails and telephone numbers – for invoicing, to keep them informed of events and timetable changes and for emergency contact)
    • students (names and dates of birth – for entering them to examinations and festivals)
    • teachers, accompanists, adjudicators, past students and others (names, addresses, emails and telephone numbers – to keep them informed of Academy activities)
  • The information is kept securely in hardcopy and/or password-protected digital format and is available only to authorised Academy staff for legitimate purposes on a “need to know” basis.
  • The information will not be shared with any third party – except for student information required by legitimate bodies for entry to examinations and festivals (in which case parents/guardians will have given us entry instructions).
  • You have the right at any time to review the information held for you and to request that it be modified or deleted. The Academy will comply with such requests within 10 working days.
  • The information will be kept until such time as the Academy no longer needs it or you request us to remove it.
  • In the unlikely event of a data breach the Academy will inform you at the earliest opportunity.

This policy will be reviewed periodically to ensure that we meet the highest standards of Data Protection. This version is issued on 1st November 2018.
